Many people ask me, "How do I choose the perfect fabric for my cards?"
Often a fabric is chosen for it's textile content (what the fabric is made of).
It is customary to wrap your tarot cards and other magical tools in silk or 100% cotton to protect them from their surroundings and the energies of others.
Traditionalists prefer to use a silk or cotton fabric. Others want a cloth that corresponds in color to:
*their astral color
*their ruling planet color
* a specific magical intent.
Some like the richness and elegance of silk, velvet, satin or brocade fabric.
And, of course, some people just want a bag that they feel 'matches' the cards.
My belief is that you should use your intuition. Your cards will be perfectly safe in anything you are guided to choose. Many feel that a particular fabric calls to them!
One of the best ways to choose a fabric is to hold your cards in your hand as you look through the various fabric choices. I purposely do not put pictures of cards with my fabrics, or give suggestions as to what deck they may look good with.
I do not want you to be influenced in your choice by anything other than your own inner feelings.
It is perfectly acceptable to choose a fabric simply because it attracts you.
